Home/Glossary/Appropriate address

Appropriate address

An appropriate address is one where a delivered document would come to the attention of someone acting for the company, and where delivery can be acknowledged.

The test was introduced to stop companies registering at addresses with no connection to them. It is why an unattended PO box no longer works as a registered office, and why a serious address provider logs post and can evidence receipt.
